If you are on a date that you absolutely cant wait to end, you have my sympathy. Weve all been there. Perhaps the date is a bore, or just isnt your style, either way. You want it to end as soon as possible, and you want it to end without the chance of there being a good night kiss, or even the awkward lean in and left hanging. So how do you make your get away?

Put your purse down. Sneaking out through the bathroom or even ducking out the front door isnt an option. You know the old saying dont burn bridges? Well you shouldnt burn this bridge in that way unless you are feeling threatened. If you feel like your safety is at risk then run at the first chance, however all other reasons for wanting to leave, dont warrant being that cruel.

Try being gently, honest with him. After the walk to the door, or car, explain that while you had a good time, you dont think that you guys have the necessary chemistry to pursue a relationship. Tell him that you hope that he has better luck with his dates in the future. Dont forget to thank him for the date, because if he was any measure of a man he treated. If he didnt treat, feel free to omit the thank you.

Dont say that you could be friends with him. If you couldnt stand spending one evening with him, how are you two going to be friends? Plus, he didnt go out on that date with you to end up with a friendship. Chances are he has plenty of friends. Your friendship would be like a consolation prize, and we all know those dont mean much.

Above all try to be civil. If you absolutely cant be civil to him, then it is probably best to leave the date before it gets to the door goodbyes. If he drove you out on the date, then tell him good bye and take a taxi home. My mom always told me to have enough money in my purse to make it home if I hade to do it by myself. So go on a date prepared to leave on your own dollar.

Although, a nice guy would offer to pay for your taxi if you wanted to leave the date early and by yourself, but we all know that if he were a nice guy, you wouldnt be leaving early.
