If you are going out on a first date, know that there are some things that most people wont be able to get over. There are certain traits, or decisions that are totally unacceptable no matter what the situation is. You need to take note, and avoid doing any of these on your future dates. 1. Hygiene is important. You need to realize that how you look is important. If your date is dressed to the nines, and you are wearing a wrinkly shirt that you cant remember when you washed it, you arent going to see a second date. Make sure you shower, shave, fix your hair, and ladies do your make up. Make sure your clothing is freshly pressed, and free of stains.
2. Money is a big issue in dating, as in a lot of things. If you flaunt it or talk about how much you have it will turn off your date. If you talk about how you dont have it, and pinch every penny it is equally bad. The general rule is dont talk about money on a first date. You arent going to go apply for a joint credit card with this person, they dont need to know your financial history.
3. Getting drunk is a huge dislike. Limit your drinks or lose your chance at seeing this person again. When people are drunk, their personalities change, and they often cant predict how. Not to mention, nobody wants to be a babysitter on a date. Drink one drink with your date to calm your nerves, but after that stop. Having self control is an important thing people are looking for in a date. If you arent in college, you cant get away with the drunken dates anymore.



When going on a first date, it is important to put your best self forward. Try to remember that you are in the presence of a stranger, and remember what your parents taught you about manners. If it isnt polite to bring up in polite conversation, it isnt polite to bring up on a date. Think of your date as a type of interview, you really want them to like you, so try your best!

Try volunteering. Pick a cause that is near and dear to your heart and volunteer. Chances are you are going to meet up with a large group of like minded people, and possibly some dating material. If they are at the volunteering event, it is because they are passionate about the same things you are, and that is a great starting point for a conversation and a relationship.

Join a gym. By joining a gym, you arent only going to make yourself look better, and therefore more appealing to a potential date, but you will get a chance to meet people. Join a class that isnt unisex and you will be met with a million ways to talk to someone. If your male, try joining a yoga class. If you are honestly trying to keep up in the class, women are going to take notice, and possibly talk to you about it. If you are female, why not join a boxing class? You will probably be the only woman in a room full of men, and they will all be watching to see how you keep up. You might even have some offers of outside instruction.

There are other people out there looking for love. You are not the only one. You just need to stop visiting the same tired old scenes, because they are filled with the same tired, old people.
