When dating, or really communicating with people in any situation, body language conveys more than your words ever could. If your mouth is saying Im interested, but your body is saying Im not, then the body language is going to win. People are more intone with the signals of your body than you are, so learn to use your body language to your advantage.

Eye contact is an important indicator of interest. Women: If you are interested in someone, start with sidelong glances, and then go for a direct gaze. Once eye contact is established lower your gaze away from him and smile as if you are embarrassed that he caught you looking. Men: Once you establish a direct gaze with a woman dont look away, let her break the gaze. Keep your gaze soft, and offer a slight smile. Let her know that you caught her looking at you.

Use your body to say that you are open. Keep your hands unclenched, and your arms uncrossed. Try to keep from fidgeting, and instead move your hands in a rhythmic manner. Use your hands to establish first contact by finding some excuse to touch them. Use your hands to mirror their actions, and within a short period of time they will be mirroring you.

Act confidently. Go out of your house looking your best. When you look your best, you act like you look good. Pay attention to your posture. Standing up straight will automatically make you seem more confident. When people stand up straight it lets us know that they arent afraid to put themselves out there.

Having the right body language is as important as nailing the first few lines of conversation. Women and men alike respond to body language. Think of the first kiss, you dont announce it, and the direction you are going to turn your head, you read the subtle clues of your partner.
